SHOWING WITH EQUISPORTS. We compete on the OHJA local and USEF Hunter & Jumper circuits, concentrating on the Midwest and local competitions. We have occasionally showed for a few of the winter weeks in Wellington, Florida or Gulfport, Mississippi and trips East in the Fall for some of the indoor venues.
Equisports clients are divided between adults and juniors, competing in the Walk/Trot divisions up to Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper. We have had a number of riders qualify and compete in the Equitation finals on the East coast.
Horses and clients training with us have won several of the Ohio Hunter & Jumper Association’s year end Hunter and Equitation Championships as well as being in the final top 8 placings over the years. We have had horses and ponies qualifying annually for Devon and “Indoors”. In 2003 the ponies “Fancy Pants”, “Navigator”, “Knickerbocker”, & “Imagine That” all attended Devon and the Pony Finals. “Knickerbocker” finished 4th overall at Pony Finals. “Navigator” finished as USEF’s 2003 Large Pony reserve champion in the National Standings.
In the Large Junior Hunters “Swept Away” and Gabrielle Reynolds led the country most of the 2005 year till she left for College. In 2004 Gabrielle was named “Best Child Rider” as well as Children’s Hunter Champion at Capital Challenge.
Courtney Cummings won the Monarch International Amateur Equitation Championships and the Adult Equitation Championship at Capital Challenge in 2006. Tory Watters and her “Eye Remember Rio” won the National Adult Hunter League Finals at Harrisburg and was also 6th in the WIHS Adult Hunter Finals at the Washington International Horse Show in 2010.
Samantha Harris was the 2011 Quarter Horse Congress 12-14 Youth Champion. Lacy Watson was Reserve World Champion & World Top 5 at the AQHA Youth World Show in OK City. Madison Brown rode her “Newsflash” to the win in the 2′ section of the 2011 Country Heir Midwest Indoors Equitation Finals. Madison also won 3 OHJA Medal Classes during the year. Eric Rupenthal who was a working student achieved his dream of being a Champion at his home town’s Trader’s Point horse show.
IEA “Team Equisports” was the 2012 IEA Zone 5 – Region 3 Finals Champions in the Middle & High School sections. Quinn Reed rode Mary Ellen Weaver’s “Mr. G” to the 2012 OHJA Intermediate Children’s Hunter division Championship. Quinn was also Reserve Champion in the Intermedite Children’s/Adult Jumper on “Mr. G” at Windfall Farm Valentines in August Horse Show. Cheryl Bernstein rode her “Cianti” to the Intermediate Adult Hunter Championship at the Windfall June II Horse Show. Marian Pitcairn rode her “Talulah” to the Intermediate Adult Hunter Championship at the Country Heir May Horse Show. Madison Brown was 1 & 2nd twice in the OHJA Medal classes during the year.
In 2013 Marian Pitcairn and “Talulah” earned Championships in the Intermediate Adult Hunter Divisions at Country Heir Farm May & Windfall Farm June II Horse Shows. Madison Brown and her new leased horse “Lasino Boy” were the Intermediate Children’s Hunter Reserve Champion at Windfall Farm June II & Valentine’s August Horse Shows. Madison Brown also won the OHJA Medal Class at Majestic Farm August Horse Show. Way to go Madision on making the transition to a horse from your pony! Quinn Reed won 5 Intermediate Children’s Equitation Flat/Fences Classes during the year on her new leased horse Perrie.
