Anne Thornbury
Anne Thornbury has been riding for 43 years and training for 20.
She grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. She started riding at the age of five, showing first in Saddle Seat then in the Hunter divisions. Anne won numerous championships on the Midwest circuit, competing in Junior hunters and Junior jumpers, and training with Russ & Linda Walther.
Anne graduated from Purdue University in 1976 with a degree as a Veterinary technician. She spent 7 years working in a small animal hospital before going back to horses full time.
Anne worked first under Geoff Teal at Deeridge farm in E. Aurora, N.Y. then moved in 1984 to Cincinnati, Ohio and started Uphill Farm with Tom Wright.
Anne and Uphill Farm operated together until Tom Wright moved his base to Florida in 1990. Equisports continues to operate in the Cincinnat area, officially incorporating in 1994.
In 2007 Anne received her Certified Equine Practitioner Degree from the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine.
Anne has served as the Secretary of the Ohio Hunter Jumper Association for the past 10 years and has served as the Co-Chairman of the USHJA Junior Hunter Task Force Committee for the last 2 years.
