Anne Thornbury

Anne Thornbury has been riding for 50 years and training for 30.

She grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. She started riding at the age of five, showing first in Saddle Seat then in the Hunter divisions. Anne won numerous championships on the Midwest circuit, competing in Junior hunters and Junior jumpers, and training with Russ & Linda Walther.

Anne graduated from Purdue University in 1976 with a degree as a Veterinary technician. She spent 7 years working in a small animal hospital before going back to horses full time.

Anne worked first under Geoff Teal at Deeridge farm in E. Aurora, N.Y. then moved in 1984 to Cincinnati, Ohio and started Uphill Farm with Tom Wright and Lisa Wigley.

Anne, Tom and Lisa operated Uphill Farm together until Tom moved to Florida in 1990. Equisports continues to operate in the Cincinnat area, officially incorporating in 1992.

In 2007 Anne received her Certified Equine Practitioner Degree from the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine.

Anne has served as the Secretary of the Ohio Hunter Jumper Association for the past 15 years. She is a past Co-Chairman of the USHJA Junior Hunter Task Force Committee.

She is currently a member of the USHJA Professionals, Horse & Riders Advocate & USEF National Hunter Council committees.
